On Saturday, November 5th, Atlas turns a sprightly 2 years old! We can’t believe it either. On one hand, it feels as though it is all still so new. On the other, most of us can’t remember a time when we went without our Pearl Grey Lattes, Two Hand Chais, and Tea Slushes.

Over the years, Atlas has matured into adolescence. Still champing at the bit each and every morning waiting with child-like anticipation for Boulder to wake up and make their way downtown. Each and every morning, so many of you start your day with us, and it is such an honor to provide you all with that experience.

I mentioned this piece of advice from my father last year at this time, and I think about it every single day: ‘Chris, never forget, that no matter how hard your day might be, how stressful it all just feels, what you are creating, what you are providing to your customers, guests, friends – is likely, and more often that not, the best part of their day. There is no second chance with that. Be the very best you can be, every day.’

Eager, excited, youthful; all great words to describe what it’s like to be on our side of the counter. But, we have also found a little wisdom along the road we’ve traveled. Looking back through pictures and records of our first days, it’s easy to reflect with a chuckle, you know what they say about hindsight. We have grown to become more consistent, more accommodating and hopefully more delicious!

One year ago, we threw, arguably, one of the best parties Boulder has ever seen. OK, maybe not, but it was pretty darn awesome. It sure was fun to celebrate ‘making it.’ While last year our hats were indeed off to you, our loyal and kind friends, this year’s theme is thank you. Thank you for being a part of a dream. Thank you for making the trek as often as you do to share your day with us. Thank you for making Atlas the wonderful community that we have all come to know and love. Thank you for inspiring us to be our very best everyday.

In honor of our birthday and in honor of you, we’d love for you to come down to the shop this weekend, give us the opportunity to thank you in person, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee on the house.
