Students!

Are you ready for finals? OK, that’s alright if you aren’t, but you should know that we are!

We’d like to introduce you to ‘Study Haul.’ Study Haul is what we are calling our round-the-clock extravaganza. Starting this weekend, 12/10, we will be staying open for all you studiers. And to top it off, we are offering students a $25 all-you-can-drink Haul Pass for the event. Yes unlimited drinks during finals starting Saturday the 10th and running through Thursday the 15th! Crazy, we know, but how else are you going to make it through?

To help you drink as much caffeine as is required to get you through exams, we are going to be staying open late, real late, like – 24hrs late!

So starting tomorrow, our hours are as follows:

Saturday 12/10 – 7am until 12am
Sunday 12/11 – 24hrs
Monday 12/12 – 24hrs
Tuesday 12/13 – 24hrs
Wednesday 12/14 – 24hrs
Thursday 12/15 – back to normal hours

Students may purchase the Haul Pass at any time here at the shop.

So, get down here, and get down here early, we expect seats will fill up pretty quickly!

Now, if you are not a student, you are welcome to take advantage of our extended hours if you’d like. So, hackers, coders, designers – have at it!

On Saturday, November 5th, Atlas turns a sprightly 2 years old! We can’t believe it either. On one hand, it feels as though it is all still so new. On the other, most of us can’t remember a time when we went without our Pearl Grey Lattes, Two Hand Chais, and Tea Slushes.

Over the years, Atlas has matured into adolescence. Still champing at the bit each and every morning waiting with child-like anticipation for Boulder to wake up and make their way downtown. Each and every morning, so many of you start your day with us, and it is such an honor to provide you all with that experience.

I mentioned this piece of advice from my father last year at this time, and I think about it every single day: ‘Chris, never forget, that no matter how hard your day might be, how stressful it all just feels, what you are creating, what you are providing to your customers, guests, friends – is likely, and more often that not, the best part of their day. There is no second chance with that. Be the very best you can be, every day.’

Eager, excited, youthful; all great words to describe what it’s like to be on our side of the counter. But, we have also found a little wisdom along the road we’ve traveled. Looking back through pictures and records of our first days, it’s easy to reflect with a chuckle, you know what they say about hindsight. We have grown to become more consistent, more accommodating and hopefully more delicious!

One year ago, we threw, arguably, one of the best parties Boulder has ever seen. OK, maybe not, but it was pretty darn awesome. It sure was fun to celebrate ‘making it.’ While last year our hats were indeed off to you, our loyal and kind friends, this year’s theme is thank you. Thank you for being a part of a dream. Thank you for making the trek as often as you do to share your day with us. Thank you for making Atlas the wonderful community that we have all come to know and love. Thank you for inspiring us to be our very best everyday.

In honor of our birthday and in honor of you, we’d love for you to come down to the shop this weekend, give us the opportunity to thank you in person, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee on the house.

Looking Back...

Today we are celebrating our 1st Anniversary… and what a year it has been.

Last September, when Brandon and Chris and I got together, to start planning this great adventure, none of us knew what to expect. We took over the space in a saturated market and poor economy. What we did know is that the three of us were busting with passion, desire, and knowledge of what it takes to run a cafe.

We opened our doors on November 5th, 2009. After tearing the newspaper down from the windows, the paint still drying on the walls, the three of us worked together to begin creating. Sitting here this morning, looking around in the early morning hours, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement of where we have come, and where we are going.

We are now providing tea to 4 high end Restaurants on Pearl Street. We are home to Boulder Open Coffee Club. We have been featured on Fox Business news. Amazing artists have lined the walls, some deeply rooted and established, others up and coming to the art world…

All of the successes we have had, though, would not have happened with out your continued support behind us. So as much as today is our birthday, it is yours as well. Thank you for making Atlas a home away from home…

Please join us tonight to celebrate with Atlas Purveyors family and friends. We will be having beer from local brewery Boulder Beers, a raffle with great prizes from local businesses, and come and celebrate what a year it truly has been.

Artist Showcase - Kendall Ruth

Our next featured artist at Atlas will be Kendall Ruth.

Kendall Ruth is a Writer and Photographer, currently based in Colorado. He is a writer/contributor for CuratorMagazine.com and PrintsforHaiti.com. He, also, blogs at:The Ink. Kendall is currently working on two manuscripts, perusing MFA programs and taking on various freelance editing, writing, consulting work. He can also be found on Twitter:@iamkendal

His collection will be on display from October 1st-December 15th. Please join us in celebrating his work with wine and cheese on October 1st from 8pm to 9pm for First Friday with Kendall Ruth.

Boulder Open Coffee Club

The Boulder Open Coffee Club has declared Atlas their new stomping grounds every other tuesday. Join them for a cup of joe and talk some tech.
